The Lauren site MySpace.com is a typical musician site with all the trappings of a totally customized profile to make its fans go wild. Many users on MySpace have striking looking profile pages like the Lauren site, since there are many websites providing the facility to customize the traditional simple profile with premade layouts and backgrounds that can be chosen to suit the user's personality.

There are some good layouts on MySpace where they have a seamless background, like the Lauren site on MySpace.com. Essentially the same background is repeated on their MySpace without the prominent seams. Actually these can be gotten rid of quite easily with the right Photoshop toolkit.

How one can do this is by opening the document that needs to be made into a seamless MySpace background in Photoshop. The width and height must be noted through the Image size.  Then each value must be divided in half. Like the Lauren site MySpace.com, the image must be offset. The values must be offset with half the total width and total height.  This makes the seams much more visible in the document by centering the edges of the background.

By using the healing brush tool, patch tool or clone tool, the seams can be blended into the background. Any good tutorial site can show you how these tools can be used.  Once the blending is satisfactory, like the seamless background on Lauren site MySpace.com, it must be offset again to return to its original look. Further corrections if any can be made at this stage.

It can now be used as a background.  With all the premade layouts readily available today, though, most people prefer to choose those rather than spend time experimenting with CSS or HTML, especially when there is so much to select from. Added to that, are the various enhancements like glitter text, graphics and music too.
